What Can I Do?

Our success in improving the lake will be directly a result of the energy and input from Lake Waubesa stakeholders including shoreline owners, and the community at large. If nearly everyone can perform one action, the success will be much greater. Actions include, but are not limited to the following:

Overall - minimize runoff into the lake
Learn best practices for improving the lake
Discuss goals & projects with other neighbors, and stakeholders
Share your views with organizations & governments
Sweep up de-icing salt to reuse for sidewalks & driveways
Adopt a storm drain & keep it free from leaves and debris
Install infiltration zones (see photo)
Create swales to hold runoff
Put in native plants to hold runoff
